Round12 [Suzuka]
‘July 13 , Round12 :Suzuka circuit Participation cars: 9 all-Japan class, 7 National class.Weather:Cloudy (DRY)
Van dam won straight victories in Suzuka and led a lot the championship by the full point addition.
@The heat softened than the previous day slightly, but at the twelfth round final temperature was still 33 degrees and track surface was 42 degrees at past 10:00 a.m.
@Followed the eleventh round, Carlo Van dam caught the pole position as a result of qualifying on Saturday. Keisuke Kunimoto was the second grid identically, and TOM'S team got the front low again. Naoki Yamamoto of Honda Team Real got 3rd, and Takuto Iguchi was 4th position. Yuki Nakayama and Kei Cozzolino followed them to form as grid of top 6.
@The final started at 10:29 a.m., Van dam settled with a good start again and got into 1st corner as the top. Yamamoto passed Kunimoto and got the second position. He said "I suffered just after first race, but got possible to start well recently" Iguchi, Nakayama, Cozzolino, Hironobu Yasuda, Daisuke Nakajima, Koki Saga followed them.
@It seemed whether they entered into the second lap as they were, but Nakayama and Cozzolino competed in breaking to the hairpin. Then Nakayama approached ahead to the corner, but his left rear contacted with right edge of wing board of Cozzolino, and Nakayama spun out. On this account Nakayama lowered a position to around the tail, and after the first lap, Van dam, Yamamoto, Kunimoto, Iguchi, Cozzolino, Yasuda were as for the order of top 6.
@Beginning the race, Van dam was faster than Yamamoto at sector one to two of the first half, but Yamamoto approached Van dam at sector three to four of second half. Then Yamamoto was late after the fourth lap gradually and received pressure of Kunimoto from his behind.
@This competition was settled in the sixth lap; Kunimoto who got into the inside at the approach to chicane and Yamamoto who held out on the outside were contacted. Yamamoto seemed to come to overturn, Kunimoto and Iguchi got ahead to him while he stood up a posture again.@Moreover Cozzolino passed Yamamoto in the seventh lap at first corner.@Just after this accident, Nakajima contacted with Saga at chicane and received damage to the machines each other, then they retired identically.
@Between an accident of Kunimoto and Yamamoto, Van dam widened a gap moreover and opened the difference for about 5 second in the race middle.
After this Nakayama and Cozzolino had left a line of battle, slight 5 machines fought of All Japan championship class.
@The battles of Kunimoto vs. Iguchi, and Yamamoto vs. Yasuda were developed, but there were not the change of order finally.
@After all "It was hot today also, but continued pushing till the last because I misunderstood that Kunimoto took the fastest lap. But contributed to the fact, I caught the fastest lap and have been able to get full points which I aimed for."
Van dam pleased to get pole to win followed to the previous day consecutive.
@Followed him, Kunimoto was second, Iguchi was third, Yamamoto and Yasuda were fourth and fifth place.

@Even National class of this twelfth round, Hideki Yamauchi got pole position with the previous day identically aim at a successive victory but missed at the start. Alexandre Imperatori started with following Masaki Matsushita and stood on the top without a difficulty, but He came into inside to avoid Nakayama who spun in the first lap at hairpin. He was going to pass through narrow space; however the engine rev went down and stalled. Matsushita who evaded Nakayama's machine took the top from the out side by taking action at a stretch without overlooking it.
@But Imperatori and Yamauchi followed them without being late a lot and waited for an opportunity to overtake. At first Yamauchi have moved to pass Imperatori in tenth lap at 1st corner, and then Yamauchi challenged Matsushita continuously. But Matsushita did not make a mistake and succeeded in confining Yamauchi till the last.
He got the second victory in this season and said "I began to drive at Suzuka at 6 and half years ago and finally got the first victory now." The engine of Imperatori was not a normal condition because of a trouble that the water temperature was rising. He finished a race in the third place without given a chance of a re-reversal.
