OSHIMA SWEEPS TO VICTORY AT HIS FAVORATE FUJI

@The Fuji race event was held at the end of summer vacation with two races as usual. While the duo of Honda Team Real Takuya Izawa and Kodai Tsukakoshi dominated the morning session on Friday, Kazuya Oshima was in his element at Fuji and headed the timesheets in the afternoon and in the qualifying on Saturday morning. TOMfS team mate Hiroaki Ishiura qualified second ahead of Tsukakoshi. NMS racer Yuhi Sekiguchi set his personal best to secure forth in the grid with points leader Robert Streit fifth, and the other Tomfs racer Oliver Jarvis seventh.

@The 15-lap race started at 4:03 pm in a cloudy sky with about six degrees Celsius dropping from the hot conditions of the qualifying for both ambient and road surface. The front row starter Ishiura had a costly stall at the start, and that seemed to trigger another stall from Sekiguchi. Oshima made a good start, and Tsukakoshi, Streit, Jarvis, Izawa and Taku Bamba completed the first lap in this formation. On lap two Hironobu Yasuda moved past Bamba into sixth.

@Pole winner Oshima gradually opened up his lead and led all the way to head home by a massive margin, setting about eight tenths faster laptime than runner-up on the way. After Jarvis passed Streit with his advantage of straight-line speed into third on lap five, the race went into a state of deadlock before Izawafs continuous challenge to Streit finally paid off in the first corner on the final lap. Tsukakoshi finished second. After falling far behind in the field Ishiura moved up to sixth to take the chequered flag behind Streit, who ran out of energy in the end.
