OSHIMA GETS HIS REVENGE TO GRAB 3RD POLE-TO-WIN WITH TEARS

@Musical performance by local elementary students added zest to the starting grid for the 13th round, the final race of the Autopolis race weekend, which was to start past three pm on Sunday in the hardest conditions of the week with the road temperature of about 45 degrees C under strong sunlight.

@Oshima was on pole again for the race two sharing the front row with Jarvis. Ishiura, Tsukakoshi, Izawa and Sekiguchi dominated the top six spots. Attention was also on how far Streit, who was starting from the rear end of the grid after the crash in the qualifying, would battle back on two lefts from the Set 2 and the two rights tyres from the Set 3 that he used in the race one.

@Unlike in the previous two races the polesitter got away best as the red signals went off at 3:08 pm, and took the holeshot easily from Jarvis, who had a wheel spin. Making a good start again Izawa passed Ishiura in the second corner to secure third place, but the Honda Real Team racer had to strive to defend his spot with Ishiura till the last moment.

@The contention for first spot thereafter was fought by Jarvis and Oshima, who had opened up a big gap of 1f6s on the first lap. Despite keeping a gap over Sekiguchi and hard charging Streit in the early stages Koki Saga gave up his sixth spot after overrunning in the second hairpin on lap 11, pushing the two into sixth and seventh respectively.

@Sustaining his concentration in the later stages without allowing Jarvis any chance to overtake him, the front-runner Oshima picked up his third win of the season. gI screwed up start in both race one and two, so I just wanted to nail the start to win in this race,h said the TOMfS driver. He shed tears on the podium.

@Jarvis finished second. Izawa held onto third with Ishiura forth quickest. After Tsukakoshi went off the track on lap 17 Sekiguchi and Streit moved into fifth and sixth to finish.
