Round12 [Autopolis]
‘August 5, Rd12/20, Entries : 12, Cloudy (Dry)
TRIUMPH AT START LEADS STREIT TO FIFTH WIN

@On the dummy grid lined up Oshima ahead of race one winner Streit, Ishiura, Jarvis, Yuhi Sekiguchi and Kodai Tsukakoshi when the 12th round started at 10:18 am on another cloudy day with a bit darker clouds. Although the 20-lap race was expected to be in completely dry conditions it began to rain halfway down the track by the end of formation lap.

@Shooting past the pole-sitter, who had a wheel spin, Streit snatched the holeshot again from Oshima, Jarvis, Izawa Sekiguchi and Tsukakoshi. By the second lap, however, Tsukakoshi came out of Sekiguchi after Sekiguchi braked too early into the hairpin for fear of wet condition.

@The heavy rain, however, did not last long, and the circuit dried up at once. The contention for supremacy was then narrowed down to the top three runners, Streit, Oshima and Jarvis. Jarvis sometimes came up with Oshima, but they could never reduce Streitfs advantage to less than 1s. The INGING driver took control of both the wet and dry stages to take a win in a row. It was his fifth win of the year as well. gI was able to come to the top of the field at the start as expected, but I stayed alert to the wet road surface,h said the Brazilian. The second and third places went to Oshima and Jarvis respectively.

@Following the successful start in the race one Izawa got another good start to finish forth with Tsukakoshi fifth and Sekiguchi sixth quickest.
